In the pink…

Happy new Year! After 3 busy but lazy non blogging festive weeks it is time to start with a review of a pink products. Pink colours are almost always very wearable shades unless it’s a crazy neon shade and as we have 2 more long winter months to bear I am thinking of pink which reminds us of spring time and that can only be a good thing! I bought all of these as stocking fillers and little make-up treats. The first products is my favourite, it is l’Oreal Color Riche nail polish in Boudoir Rose, it’s a perfect shade of pink not too girly just a beautiful. It is £ 4.99 at Superdrug.

COLOR RICHE BOUDOIR ROSE                                                                                                                Color riche nail polish Rose Bagatelle

I also love the Rose Bagatelle shade, it is more of a nude pink, slightly beige pink a very pretty shade.

Rimmel 1000 kisses Endless Blossom                               Rimmel 1000 Kisses in endless blossom

Next is Rimmel transfer proof lip tint 1000 kisses in Endless Blossom. It is a felt pencil on one end and a lip balm on the other side. A long lasting colour, it can be worn on its own, to tint the lips, one application give a nice pink hue and another gives quite a strong pink mat shade, then you can add the balm to add a layer of moisture and a subtle shine. The other shade is Nothing but Nude, a gorgeous nude pink. I prefer the Nothing but Nude shade as I love nude pinks lipsticks and lip pencils and I have many from a large number of brands. It is £ 5.99 at Boots.

Last product is a creme Blush from Bourjois. This product is a bespoke blusher that transforms into a unique personal pink when applied to the cheeks. It is a creme blush which transforms it’s texture to a soft powder. It is called exclusif as it will change colour once applied on the skin. I didn’t find the colour to change very much, it became a slightly darker pink, but I guess it will be different for each user. The colour in the pan is a pale pink but became a light fushia pink.Personally I think this colour works best on pale or quite pale skins. The strongest feature of this blusher is it’s texture, light and very easy to blend it feels very pleasant on the skin. I was going to add a picture of the colour on my hand but it seems a little bit pointless as it would not represent the product so here is a picture of the cute little box and the blush inside.

On the Bourjois front I read in the excellent wwww.british beauty blogger that Bourjois will be releasing three limited Blusher using a vintage box design (from 1934 I think), the boxes looked very very pretty and the shades are popular Rose shades. I love all Bourjois blushers and  in my humble opinion offer a large range of great colour, quality for a very good price and are fantastic value. I will review them once they are in the shop. I have a whole collection of them and some pretty old ones which I picked up in a flea market in france many years ago. This little box and a small pot of of mica pigment given to me by a chemist at the Kiehl’s pharmacy in New Year well before it became a global brand have been my good luck charms and has been in my make-up case from since first starting as a makeup artist and I guess will stay there forever.

AM x
