A while back I visited the Bourjois press office in London. As a makeup artist and long time makeup addict I have always had Bourjois in my life. One of my first makeup encounters was with the iconic Bourjois blushers. I used to collect little boxes and growing up I often went to flea markets, antique and bric-a-brac shops and would hunt little boxes, bottles etc…
I had all kinds of antique cosmetic bottles, boxes, powder compacts which I bought with my pocket money and added to my collection.
One of my early precious find was a cardboard Bourjois blusher, with its really pretty box and a complete powder blusher inside. Growing in France Bourjois was everywhere. It is a very popular brand which was and still is affordable and delivered quality and fashionable makeup collections, so young girl like me who was interested in makeup would just have Bourjois in their makeup bag.
I have had an original “Cendre de Rose”which I think was the first blusher colour produced in the 19th century when Bourjois started as a makeup brand, in my makeup case and has been a bit of a good luck talisman as it has been with me from the beginning of my makeup career!
I have several Bourjois blushers, eyeshadows etc… in my makeup kit and still use them regularly.
Back to my visit at Bourjois, I was interested in their new cream blush as I love cream blushers and have a vast collection from all kind of different makeup houses.
They are so versatile and look fresher on mature skin, plus if you want a dewy look they blend well with foundations and look less powdery than classic powder blushers.
One of my favourite colour is the Rose Tender 03, it’s a delicate pink which can be used without foundation, it’s a quite transparent colour and works well with all different skin tones. I’ve used it on eyes lids as a veil of colour instead of eye shadow.
Nude Velvet 01 is fab too, can be used with just a dab of colour on lips and minimal eye makeup for a great healthy look!
I have used and tried out 4 colours and liked them all. The little box is smaller than the classic powder blush and has a handy little mirror inside.
The price is pretty good too, as certain premium brand now have ridiculously high prices I think this offers great value for a top quality product.
Their price is £ 6.99 and can be found at Boots and many other high street retailers.
