The relationship lead to the abandonment of the throne and their exile following their wedding which happened, finally after many vicissitudes. Wallis became Duchess of Windsor then settled into an undefined kind of subrogated queen, ruling over Café Society (soon to be called jet set) and failed to rule the UK.

Devoting tireless energy to this new persona, she did invest fully in what is called the “Windsor Style” a clever mix of domestic extravagance and elegance. She dressed sometimes flirting with bad taste but without ever been tacky. Until her last days, the Duchess will impose her look, strict and timeless and always enhanced by stunning and incredible jewellery. Her makeup was always the same, immaculately applied in the style of that period. Carmine red lips, dark and severe made up eyebrows and a little definition around the eyes was her look. Her hair was also impeccable and super strict but in her later years became softer. A work of all moments earned her year after year, to be on the list of best dressed women in the world.
