Diptyque is an established french perfumer renowned for their extensive range of beautiful candles and scents. The perfumes and candles are beautifully packaged with their trade mark oval labels inspired by an 18th century medallion. Their extensive range has over 10 different perfumes and 49 stunning scented candles. To complement the personal and home fragrances Diptyque have created a small collection of face and body care. The five face care products are a Nourishing Cleansing Balm, an Infused Facial Water, a Multi-use Exfoliating Clay, a Protective Moisturizing Lotion and a Radiance Boosting Powder.

Cleansing powders are having a bit of a moment at present and there will be more appearing on the market in 2015. Like BB creams these powders were created in the far East. I have been using the Diptyque Radiance Boosting Powder for a couple of weeks and here are my thoughts. I think it is fair to say that this is a bit of a mix purpose product, it works as an exfoliant and a cleanser. The bottle of powder comes with a small black exfoliating foam ball. First you need to pour a small amount of powder in the balm of your hand, then mix a little water to create a paste. Apply that paste on the ball and then gently rub the face in circular motion avoiding the delicate eye area. The powder is white and very fine, it makes a delicate scented paste. It is made from natural white clay, it purifies and remineralises the skin and is enriched with orange blossom, rose and jasmine softening flower petals which nourishes the skin. The result is a beautifully cleansed skin. I think the exfoliating action improves the skin clarity and radiance without drying it out. It is pleasant product to use and the scent is subtle and luxurious. Ditpyque recommends using it morning and and evening but I prefer using it in the evening once a day to clear dirt and impurities. My skin is quite sensitive and exfoliating twice a day might be too much. It is available at Space NK or on the Diptyque website and cost £ 38. I know this is quite expensive but it will last a long time as you only need a small amount to work.  AM x
