Cleansing thoroughly every night and every morning is essential to keep the skin healthy and blemish free. A good cleanser is absolutely essential and so here is my selection. From budget to deluxe you should find something to suit you.
The classic Pond’s Cream is a rich facial cleanser which cleanses without drying the face, it has a deep cleaning action and will remove all makeup including waterproof mascara and dirt. It has a bit of of vintage feel and a delicate scent. It does what it says on the tin and at £ 4.49 (Superdrug) is extremely good value.
Simple Purifying lotion is a non scented creamy concoction which will lift dirt, dead skin and remove makeup gently but thoroughly. It leaves the skin feeling soft, thoroughly clean and healthy. WIth added pro-vitamin B5 it will make your skin supple. It is unscented and is perfect for sensitive skin. At £ 2.99 (Superdrug) even the most cash strapped can afford this product.
Bioderma Sensibio H2O is an ultra-mild, non-rinse micellar water cleanser and make-up remover. It is alcohol free and fragrance free. It will gently cleanse sensitive and normal to dry skin. Added decongesting active ingredients to prevent irritation, it makes the skin feel refreshed, perfectly clean and free from all make-up even water resistant mascara. This cleanser has become a bit of a cult product and has won all kind of awards. It is just the thing for very sensitive skin. It cost £ 13.99 (500ml) at Amazon.
Eve Lom Cleanser from famous facialist Eve Lom is suitable for all skin types. It is a great, multi-purpose product and the basis of the Eve Lom skincare regime. It is to be used with a specially woven muslin cloth which is enclosed with the product. It removes even the most stubborn make-up while exfoliating, decongesting, and toning the skin. It has Clove oils antiseptic properties for a blemish freee complexion, Eucalyptus Oil to drain away toxins and Hops Oil, Egyptian Camomile Oil and Cocoa Butter to condition and tone the skin. It is expensive but does last as a small amount goes a long way. It cost £ 40.00 for 50ml or £ 55.00 for 100ml at John Lewis.
Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel is a very clever cleanser. Starting out as a refreshing honey-coloured gel it grabs all the skin’s surface impurities and make-up, and then melt into a clear deep-cleansing oil. And by adding a splash of water it becomes a gorgeous cleansing milk that washes off very easily. Suitable for all types of skins including delicate and sensitive skin, it will leave your skin feeling clean and very soft. This cleanser is perfect if you like to use water in your cleansing routine. It costs £ 19.50 at Boots.com.
